Newsletter: Friday 15th February
Dear Manager / Adult Literacy Organiser / Family Learning Facilitator,
The Clare Family Learning Project is under discussions with certifying bodies concerning the accreditation of our Family Learning Facilitators Training. In the tradition of our Facilitator Training, the course will have a strong focus on practical skills and knowledge needed to deliver a wide variety of family learning courses in response to diverse needs.
We would welcome your comments and value them as part of the process of providing the best training possible. Please take a few moments to answer the questions below and to provide any additional comments you feel would be helpful.
You can reply by email simply by clicking ‘Reply’ and typing in your comments.
Is there a demand for certification of the Clare Family Learning Facilitators Training? (Certification is likely to be at FETAC or HETAC Level 6. Assignments would include the design and delivery of a practical project drawn from the identified learning needs of a tutor’s learning community and completion of a learning journal.)
Would there be a parallel need to provide non-accredited training? For example, introductory sessions, workshops on specific areas etc.?
If the accreditation is introduced would tutors who have previously completed the course be interested in attaining this accreditation?
A working draft of the course content based on the current course can be located at http://www.clarefamilylearning.org/docs/training/workingdraft.doc
From your local experience since completing the course, what have you found most useful about the Clare Family Learning Facilitator Training?
What additional topics would you like to see covered?
The course is likely to run over two sets of three full days. Is this a practical model for tutors?
Any other comments?
We would appreciate your comments by the end of March. You can reply by email or phone (Mary 065 6897645 or Moira 065 6897641).
Thank you for sharing your views with us. We will keep you informed of the process.
Best wishes,
